Curriculum Vitae

Ole Ravn received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in august 1984 from Technical University of Denmark and worked as Ph.D. student at Technical University of Denmark, Servolaboratoriet with the project 'Adaptive control of systems with more outputs' from september 1984.

In March 1987 he was employed as assistant professor (adjunkt) at Servolaboratoriet in the field 'CAD of control systems' and joined the project group in the cross-departmental project in Computer Aided Control Engineering.

He is currently employed as associate professor (lektor) at Department of Automation in the field of automatic control.

His current research interests include adaptive control that was originally his main research area, computer aided control engineering, vision-based automation and control as well as his currently most active area control and design of robots and autonomous systems.

Ole Ravn is a founding member of the research group working on autonomous system at IAU. Ole Ravn has published his results internationally in all of the mentioned research areas.

Ole Ravn has an extensive teaching experience, include courses such as 'Basic Control Theory', 'Microcomputer Systems', 'Industrial Automation Systems' and recently 'Autonomous Robot Systems' as well as a course in adaptive control.

He has supervised more than 120 Master Projects and 15 PhD. projects.

Ole Ravn was head of department from February 1992 - March 1993 and have served on steering committees in several EU projects.

He was project coordinator on EU-COPERNICUS'93 project. 10119 Dynamic control of robotic manipulators, - Mechatronic approach.

He is currently head of Automation at Ørsted•DTU, member of the DTU senate and Director of Studies M.Sc.E.E.

In 2005 he received the award 'AEG Elektronprisen' for achievements in robotics.
